Oregon Forward is a government procurement program that supports meaningful work opportunities for Oregonians with disabilities. By purchasing through this program, Oregon public agencies empower a uniquely skilled and diverse workforce to provide essential goods and services to their communities and throughout the state. We call this purpose-driven purchasing — buying decisions that solve problems and change lives.
ORA was the driving force behind the creation of the Oregon Forward Program in 1977. We have supported and fostered the program ever since. We work closely with all program partners to ensure that Oregon Forward lives up its stated purpose: to encourage and assist individuals with disabilities to achieve "maximum personal independence in their communities through productive and gainful employment." This aim depends upon a constant and expanding market for products and services manufactured by Oregon Forward contractors.
